Earlier this week, basketball practice for the boys high school eagles and for the high school lady eagles started. The high school boys have had conditioning for the past two weeks, but their first official practice at the HLC was this Monday.
The high school Lady Eagles had their first practice at the HLC this past Thursday. They have two new coaches this season, Dr. Shaffer and Mandy Smith. The middle school Lady Eagles are also practicing at the HLC along with the high schoolers.
Covenant Eagles freshman, Griffin Spualding, said, “so far it looks like we are going good and our practice is going good and our team is looking good. I also think that we are going to do good in the season because we have good size and good shooting. Our team is building good chemistry and we are all learning our role and I cannot wait until we get to our first game.”
Another eagles player, Kam Helmstettler, who is a sophomore, said, “I like the team that we are building and I feel like we are going to have a good season this year. We are going to do really good this season and we are going to have a lot of good teamwork with our team.”
The eagles first game this season is on December 2.
